Health Orientation Program for Community School Teachers and Nurses at Chandragiri
Chandragiri, August 5, 2025 – The Rotary Club of Dillibazar, Kathmandu organized a grand orientation program on eye health for community school teachers and nurses at the Chandragiri Municipality Hall today. The event aimed to enhance the capacity of local educators and health workers in early detection of vision problems among school children.
The chief guest of the program was Mr. Ghanashyam Giri, Mayor of Chandragiri Municipality. The program was chaired by Rtn. Prem Kumar Oli, President of the Rotary Club of Dillibazar–Kathmandu. Special guest, Deputy Mayor Ms. Basanti Shrestha, along with other distinguished guests including senior municipal officers, past presidents Rtn. Dr. Parthiveshwar Prasad Timilsina, Rtn. Yubaraj Adhikari, Rtn. Indira Parajuli, Club Secretary Rtn. Sandhya Rajbhandari, and other Rotarians, graced the occasion with their presence.
Program Coordinator and Past President Rtn. Lilanath Sharma delivered the welcome speech, while Secretary Rtn. Sandhya Rajbhandari offered the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to all participants and supporters.The service project director Rotn Dr Hari Krsihna Baskota performed a presentation about eye problem. Past president Rtn Dr Parthiveshwar Timilsina also gave speech about social service and collaboration his foundation with RC Dillibazar.
More than 46 community school teachers and health workers participated in the orientation. These trained individuals will conduct eye screenings for approximately 12,000 students across 22 different community schools within the next two months. Based on the screening results, the Rotary Club of Dillibazar plans to organize 5 to 6 eye health camps for the identified students.
The project is being conducted in partnership with Chandragiri Municipality, Chandragiri Hills, GMPT Foundation, Sahaj Foundation, and Krishnabhakt Foundation. The Rotary Club of Dillibazar welcomes additional partners and collaborators to join this impactful initiative for children’s eye health.
