18th Rotary International District 3292 Conference and Club Tour
Pokhara – The 18th Rotary International District Conference, organized by Rotary International District, concluded successfully in Pokhara amidst great enthusiasm and grandeur. Held at the Pokhara Event Center, the three-day conference witnessed the remarkable participation of more than 1,200 Rotarians from Nepal and abroad. Conducted on Baishakh 4, 5, and 6, the conference featured a variety of informative and entertaining programs along with the selection of new leadership.
During the opening session, the Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City, chief guest Govindsamy Ramakrishna from India, the District Governor, and other distinguished guests addressed the gathering and praised Rotary’s continuous contribution to social service. The speakers highlighted that Rotary’s spirit of service, international collaboration, and socially responsible initiatives have played an important role in transforming communities.
Throughout the three-day event, various activities were organized, including a quiz competition, talent show, thematic sessions, leadership development programs, and the leadership election process. One of the major highlights of the conference was the election for the District Governor for the 2028–2029 term, in which Rotarian Amit Giri was elected. Participants expressed confidence that under his leadership, Rotary’s mission and activities would become even more effective and impactful.
The talent show, one of the attractions of the conference, featured seven participants. Representing the Rotary Club of Dillibazar, Kathmandu, spouse Pushpa Poudel secured third place with an outstanding performance. She presented a dance, which was highly appreciated by the audience and fellow participants.
Similarly, in the quiz competition, the Rotary Club of Dillibazar, Kathmandu achieved second place through an impressive performance. The competition, based on knowledge, leadership, and Rotary-related topics, showcased the club members’ preparedness and active involvement, earning admiration from participants.
A total of 26 members from the Rotary Club of Dillibazar, Kathmandu participated in the conference. The attendees actively engaged in various sessions and gained valuable opportunities for learning, networking, and sharing experiences.
In addition to the formal conference activities, a special tour program was organized to promote domestic tourism. Participating Rotarians visited notable tourist and religious destinations including Ghandruk, Baglung Kalika, and Bandipur. The tour allowed participants to experience Nepal’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and religious significance.
Participants shared that the tour program added extra excitement and energy to the conference experience. According to them, such activities not only strengthen Rotary’s institutional relationships but also contribute significantly to the promotion of domestic tourism.
Overall, the 18th Rotary International District Conference was successfully completed as an excellent blend of knowledge, leadership, entertainment, and fellowship, according to the organizers. The conference is believed to have inspired participants with renewed energy and strengthened their commitment to community service.
