Rotary Club of Dillibazar–Kathmandu Celebrates 27th Chartered Day with Grand Ceremony and Felicitation Program
Kathmandu, May 19 —
The Rotary Club of Dillibazar–Kathmandu celebrated its 27th Chartered Day with
great enthusiasm and grandeur through a variety of programs and special events.
The club, which has been continuously active in the fields of social service,
education, healthcare, and humanitarian activities, organized a felicitation
ceremony, cultural performances, and interactive sessions to mark the occasion.
The program was chaired by Club
President Rotarian Prem Kumar Wali and attended by Rotary International
District 3292 District Governor Binod Koirala as the Chief Guest. Distinguished
guests included Immediate Past District Governor Rajendraman Sherchan; Past
District Governors Sanjay Giri, Yogendraman Pradhan, and Jitendra Rajbhandari;
Lions International District 325 District Governor Binay Basnet; Governor Elect
Bishnu Bahadur Karki; Governor Nominee IP Dhakal; DGND Amit Giri; District
Secretary Anish Bajracharya; along with several other eminent personalities
from different sectors.
During the program, President Prem
Kumar Wali highlighted the various social, educational, and humanitarian
activities carried out by the club during his tenure. He stated that the club
has continuously worked for the welfare of the community and reaffirmed its
commitment to the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self,” by conducting even more
impactful programs in the future.
Similarly, Past President Dr.
Parthiweshwor Prasad Timilsina shared detailed information about the
establishment, history, and major long-term projects undertaken by the Rotary
Club of Dillibazar over the past 27 years. He emphasized the club’s remarkable
contributions in the areas of education, healthcare, environmental
conservation, youth leadership development, and support for underprivileged
communities.
Chief Guest District Governor Binod
Koirala highly appreciated the club’s diverse social initiatives conducted
during the current Rotary year and described the Rotary Club of Dillibazar as
an “old, active, and vibrant club.” He also stressed the importance of
supporting The Rotary Foundation and expressed that Rotary can bring meaningful
positive change to society through collective service and dedication.
On the occasion of the Chartered
Day, personalities who have made significant contributions to society and
education were also honored. Those felicitated included Rajaram Yadav,
Principal of Pranabananda Ashram; Rita Tiwari, Principal of Padmakanya Vidyashram
Secondary School; and social worker Santosh Dhungel from Dillibazar. The club
honored them in recognition of their outstanding contributions to education,
social service, and humanitarian work.
Likewise, charter members of the
Rotary Club of Dillibazar and members who have continuously contributed to the
club for more than 20 years were also specially recognized and honored during
the event. The program acknowledged their dedication and expressed confidence
in their continued involvement in social service activities in the years ahead.
President Elect Sujita Adhikari
delivered the welcome speech, while Vice President (Second) Rajesh Aryal
expressed the vote of thanks. The program was effectively hosted by Vice
President (First) Deepti Singh.
In addition to the formal ceremony,
the event featured entertaining cultural performances including dance, songs,
poetry recitation, and flute performances, making the celebration lively and
memorable. Guests and participants appreciated the Rotary Club of Dillibazar for
its continuous contribution to society and extended their best wishes for the
successful continuation of such creative and meaningful activities in the
future.
